Hillman scored the first goal in each of Williams’ two NESCAC Championship wins this past weekend. The freshman’s game-winner 25 minutes into the Championship contest against Bowdoin earned Williams an NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Tournament berth.

Griffiths scored the game’s only goal as Middlebury topped Tufts 1-0 in a first-round tournament game. Griffiths, the team’s sweeper, also helped the Panther defense to earn its 10th and 11th shutouts of the season over Connecticut College and Tufts.

The first year had his best game of the year, netting two goals and adding the game winning assist in a 5-2 NESCAC win over rival Amherst. The win helped Williams clinch the top seed in the upcoming NESCAC tournament.

Brendan Nangle, Bates
(Sophomore, Forward - Westport, Conn.)
Nangle scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Middlebury on Saturday, giving the Bobcats their first NESCAC win of the season. He scored the first goal on a quick counter, then added an insurance goal after a scramble in front of the Middlebury net late in the second half. Nangle also contributed a goal this week in a 5-1 defeat of the University of New England.

Ben Castellot, Tufts

Castellot scored three goals, including two game-winners, during the week as Tufts won its first back-to-back games of the season. The freshman scored his first collegiate goal in the 55th minute of a 3-2 win at Salve Regina on Tuesday. Against Trinity on Saturday, Castellot scored both goals in a 2-1 win.

The reigning NESCAC Player of the Year and First Team All-American had a dominating weekend. He scored two goals Saturday in a 3-1 win over Bates followed by a two-goal performance in a 6-1 win over Colby. The Kingston, Jamaica native now leads the team with eight goals in the 2003 campaign.

First-year Mike Wohl notched three goals and an assist in a 2-0 week for Amherst, including the game-winning tallies in a 5-0 win over Babson and a 3-1 win over fifth-ranked Bowdoin.

Bobby Desilets, Bowdoin
(Junior, Forward - Mapleville, R.I.)
Desilets scored two goals, including the game-tying tally with 27 seconds left in regulation against Williams on Saturday. The junior forward leads the Polar Bears in scoring this season. Bowdoin has played overtime in three of their four games this season.

In 200 minutes, Conroy allowed one goal and made 16 saves during the week. He posted a 0.45 goals against average and 94.1 save percentage. Conroy made seven saves in a 1-1 tie with MIT on Wednesday, then recorded the seventh shutout of his career with nine saves at Connecticut College on Saturday. The Camels earned a 12-8 advantage in shots for the game, but Conroy was equal to the task.

Kellan Florio, Middlebury

Florio scored three goals last week to help the Panthers remain a perfect 3-0. He scored one goal in a 6-0 win over Castleton State, before netting a pair in a 3-0 NESCAC road win at Trinity. Florio and the Panthers have yet to give up a goal this season.
