Meet Hannah Fox - Amherst Women's Basketball & Lacrosse

Hannah Fox, Amherst A two-sport student-athlete at Amherst, Hannah Fox competed for both the women’s basketball team and the women’s lacrosse team at an elite level and was a mathematics and economics double major before graduating in May with a 3.65 GPA. Captaining the basketball team during her final season donning the Purple & White, the Plymouth Meeting, Pa. native was named a 2020 CoSIDA Academic All-District selection as a six-time NESCAC All-Academic Team honoree and a 2019 NESCAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Team selection. 

On the court, Fox was named Second Team All-America by d3hoops.com and to the prestigious WBCA All-America team this winter after previously being named an honorable mention WBCA All-American in each of the last two seasons. A key component in Amherst's runs to back-to-back perfect seasons and the Division III National Champions in 2016-17 and 2017-18, Fox also boasts three appearances on the All-NESCAC squads. Competing for United States Women’s Basketball Team at the World Maccabiah Games in 2017, Fox brought home a gold medal.

She concluded her four-years having suited up in 119 contests, including 91 starts, for the Mammoths women’s basketball program, holds program records in single-game points (43), and single-game field goals made (19), and ranks third all-time in career scoring (1424).

On the field, Fox was a 2019 IWLCA All-Region honoree, finishing her junior season ranked among the top-four on the Mammoths in goals (26), assists (12), points (39), draw controls (55), ground balls (30) and caused turnovers (20). Eclipsing 25-points in both seasons, Fox helped the Mammoths advance to the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament in 2018 and 2019.

Fox wrapped up her collegiate career on the lacrosse field appearing in 39 games for the Mammoths, including 28 starts, to amass 54 goals and 30 assists for 84 points, 57 ground balls, 117 draw controls, and 29 caused turnovers.

She was awarded the Howard Hill Mossman Trophy at the College's Senior Assembly. It is an honor given annually to the member of the senior class who has brought, during his/her four years at Amherst, the greatest honor (as relating both to achievement and to sportsmanship) in athletics to the Alma Mater. Fox was also selected as one of three Commencement Marshals for the Class of 2020, a prestigious honor bestowed by Amherst College.
