Seniors Sophia Galleher (Denver, Colo.) of Amherst and Peter Kosgei (Kapsabet, Kenya) of Hamilton both earned 2009 NESCAC Most Outstanding Performer honors after the two placed first at the 2009 NESCAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Trinity College at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn. on Sunday, Nov. 1.

HADLEY, Mass. Hamilton senior Peter Kosgei (Kapsabet, Kenya) was named Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week, while Amherst senior Sophia Galleher (Denver, Colo.) garnered Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week for Nov. 2, 2009. Both harriers were the individual champion at the 2009 NESCAC Cross Country Championships this past weekend at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn.
MANCHESTER, Conn. The Williams College men captured their fourth consecutive NESCAC Cross Country Championship, while the Middlebury College women took the 2009 league crown at Wickham Park Sunday Afternoon. Hamilton College's Peter Kosgei (Kapsabet, Kenya) won his third consecutive individual title, running the 8-kilometer course in 25:40, while Sophia Galleher (Denver, Colo.) of Amherst took the individual title, covering the women's 6-kilometer course in 21:39 as she won the crown by just one second over runner-up Ravenna Neville (Westfield, N.J.) of Wesleyan.
HADLEY, Mass. Trinity College will host the 2009 NESCAC Cross Country Championships this Sunday afternoon at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn. The 27th annual conference meet commences at 12:00 p.m. with the start of the womens 6-kilometer championship race and will be followed at 1:00 p.m. by the mens 8-kilometer race.

HADLEY, Mass. Williams senior Edgar Kosgey (Eldoret Rift Valley, Kenya) was named the Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week, while Wesleyan senior Ravenna Neville (Westfield, N.J.) earned Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week for Oct. 26, 2009. Kosgey won the 2009 Little Three championships, hosted by Amherst, on Saturday with a time of 25:46 over the wet and muddy course. Neville battled both competitors and course conditions on Saturday at the Little Three championships, taking top honors as she finished first on the wet and muddy Amherst course in a time of 18:51.
