Amherst's Menezes and Berckes Win Second-Consecutive Doubles Championship
ST. PETER, Minn. - Amherst College senior Alicia Menezes (Staten Island, N.Y.) and sophomore Brittany Berckes (Secaucus, N.J.) paired to win their second straight national championship in the NCAA Division III Doubles Tournament this afternoon. The Lord Jeff pair defeated opponents from Emory and Denison in the national semifinal and final today to repeat as national champions.

Gibson's Rally Falls Short in NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Championship
ST. PETER, Minn. - In the final of the 2008 NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Championship between Pomona-Pitzer's Siobhan Finicane and Cary Gibson of Williams, Finicane won battled past Gibson for a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 victory. Finicane ist the first womens tennis player from Pomona-Pitzer since 1994 to win a singles title, while Gibson was the first womens tennis player in Williams history to make an appearance in the singles final.

Connecticut College Tennis Courts to Undergo Renovation
NEW LONDON, Conn. With a lead gift from Connecticut College alumni Anne and Carter Sullivan, Connecticut College will completely renovate the campus tennis facility this summer. All six of the tennis courts on the colleges south campus, which are used primarily by the colleges intercollegiate varsity tennis teams and members of the college community, will be rebuilt and resurfaced. In addition, the $300,000 new facility will be equipped with new windscreens and spectator seating.

Williams Upends Washington & Lee, Wins 2008 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship
ST. PETER, Minn. - Williams claimed the 2008 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship in a thrilling 5-4 decision over the defending team champion Washington & Lee Generals on Thursday afternoon on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College. It is the third team title for Williams, and its first since winning back-to-back titles in 2001 and 2002. Washington & Lee finished as the NCAA Runner-Up for the fifth time in program history and the fourth time in six seasons.

Williams to Play for 2008 NCAA Women's Tennis Championship
ST. PETER, Minn. - Williams College overcame a 2-1 deficit after doubles to down Pomona-Pitzer 5-2 Thursday at Gustavus Adolphus in the 2008 NCAA Women's Tennis semifinals. The Ephs will take on defending national champion Washington & Lee, which has not lost a match since falling to Williams on March 31, 2007, 5-4.
