Tufts Edges Wesleyan 5-4 in Women's Tennis First Round

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - Tufts advanced to the NESCAC semifinals with a 5-4 victory over Wesleyan at Middlebury. The Jumbos will take on Amherst on Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m., while Amherst meets Bowdoin at 8:30 a.m. in the other semifinal contest.
Tufts led 2-1 after doubles play, with the lead moving to 4-1 after wins at #2 and #4 singles. Alex Sirois of Wesleyan defeated Laura Hoguet 6-4, 6-2 at #6 singles to make it a 4-2 match, before Meghan McCooey sealed the match for the Jumbos with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Ania Preneta at #1 singles.
