2007 NESCAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week

November 5, 2007
Gabrielle Woodson, Williams
(Junior, Forward - Plano, Texas)
Woodson propelled the Ephs to their second NESCAC title and first since 2004 over the weekend with three goals and three assists. On Saturday against Middlebury, Woodson had two goals an assist in a 4-1 victory. In Sunday's championship game, Woodson had two helpers while scoring one goal in a 4-0 decision over Bowdoin. Sunday's goal gave Woodson 14 so far this season, a new single-season record at Williams.

Kaolin McEvoy, Williams
(Senior, Midfielder - Longmeadow, Mass.)
McEvoy provided solid support for the Ephs in their lone contest last week, a 2-1 victory over NESCAC rival Amherst that capped a perfect regular season for Williams. While McEvoy was not credited on the stat sheet at the end of Saturday's game, she directed the Ephs' offense to a 24-8 edge in shots and a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks while helping her team control the center of the field, as the defense allowed only the third goal all season..

Ann Zeigler, Bowdoin
(Senior, Forward - Washington, D.C.)
Zeigler scored the lone goal during Saturday's game at Trinity, giving the Polar Bears a 1-0 victory and a shot at hosting a first round game in the 2007 NESCAC Women's Soccer Championship. Zeigler also had two goals and an assist in Bowdoin's victory over Brandeis on Thursday.

Ashley Pfaff, Middlebury
(Junior, Forward - Charlotte, Vt.)
Pfaff scored four goals during a 2-0 week for the Panthers, collecting two goals each in a mid-week win over Castleton and in Saturday's victory at Bates. Pfaff now has six goals in her last three games and is tied for third overall in the NESCAC with seven goals through 13 outings.

Lili Ferguson, Amherst
(Sophomore, Goalkeeper - Winnetka, Ill.)
Ferguson recorded back-to-back shutouts last week in helping the Jeffs to two NESCAC victories. She combined for nine saves, making three stops in a 2-0 win over Trinity on Wednesday before blocking six shots on Saturday in a 1-0 overtime victory at Colby. Ferguson, who has five shutouts for Amherst this season, lowered her goals-against average for the year to 1.01.

Cara Cadigan, Tufts
(Sophomore, Forward - Nahant, Mass.)
Cadigan tallied three goals and added in two assists for an eight-point effort during a 2-0 week for the Jumbos. On Wednesday against Brandies, Cadigan scored two goals in the first half before assisting on the game-winner with 1:40 remaining in the game as Tufts earned a 4-3 victory. She closed out the week on Saturday with a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win over Bowdoin. Cadigan, who leads the NESCAC in scoring this season, has 10 goals and four assists through nine games.

October 1, 2007
Sharon Katz, Connecticut College
(Sophomore, Forward - Barrington, R.I.)
Katz keyed a perfect 2-0-0 week for the Camels, contributing two goals and two assists. On Tuesday, Katz tallied twice and added in an assist in an 8-2 victory over rival Coast Guard. She closed out the week on Saturday by setting up the game-winning goal in the second overtime to give Connecticut College a 2-1 victory over Wesleyan. The Camels have now won their last four games.

Emily Weedon, Trinity
(First Year, Goalkeeper - Wellesley, Mass.)
Weedon recorded three shutouts in three road games last week, including back-to-back clean sheets at NESCAC foes Colby and Bates over the weekend. For the week, Weedon went 2-0-1 with 11 saves through 290 minutes of action. Weedon has not allowed a goal in her last 519 minutes of play.

Lauren Sinnenberg, Williams
(Sophomore, Goalkeeper - Westfield, N.J.)
Sinnenberg posted three shutouts during a 3-0-0 week for the Ephs, making a total of 17 saves, 11 coming at Bowdoin on Saturday during a 1-0 Williams win. Sinnenberg has not allowed a goal in just over 551 minutes of play, and boasts a 7-0-0 record with a 0.00 goals-against average and a 1.000 save percentage this season.

Cara Cadigan, Tufts
(Sophomore, Forward - Nahant, Mass.)
Cadigan had a hand in all four goals for Tufts last week, scoring three while assisting on the fourth. Saturday afternoon against Middlebury, Cadigan assisted on the game-tying goal in the 84th minute before tallying the decisive goal in double-overtime for a 2-1 Jumbo win. On Sunday, Cadigan's two goals powered Tufts past Carthage, 2-0. After missing 2006 because of injury, Cadigan has scored four of the Jumbos' six goals through four games this season.

Ann Zeigler, Bowdoin
(Senior, Forward - Washington, D.C.)
Zeigler scored both game-winning goals in a pair of one-goal victories over the weekend for the Polar Bears. On Saturday the senior captain scored the decisive goal with under eight minutes remaining in a 2-1 win at Bridgewater St. Sunday afternoon, Zeigler assisted on the game-tying goal with 14 minutes remaining before netting the game-winner in overtime for a 3-2 win over Babson.
