Hamilton Moves Past Colby in NCAA Women's Lacrosse Regional

CLINTON, N.Y. - Nicole Tetreault scored four goals and Kate Fowler made a career-high 12 saves to help lead Hamilton past visiting Colby, 13-6, in the second round of the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament at Campus Road Athletic Field on May 10.

Kaillie Briscoe scored two goals and added three assists for Hamilton (18-1 overall). Liz Rave scored three goals. Sarah Bray scored twice and caused two turnovers. Allie Shpall scooped up a game-high four ground balls. Hilary Saverin collected a game-high three draw controls and scored a goal. Briscoe now has 99 points this season, which extends the program record broken earlier this year. Tetreault's 176 career points are tied for fifth-most in program history.

Kate Sheridan and Becky Julian led Colby (13-6 overall) with two goals each. Jamie Enos caused three turnovers and picked up three ground balls. Caroline Duke also collected three ground balls. Lexi Crook registered two draw controls. Sarah Warnke made nine saves.

Colby actually notched the game's first goal when Julian scored on a free position shot with 25 minutes, 35 seconds remaining in the first half. Hamilton responded with six unanswered goals, starting with Rave's tally with 23:36 left and ending with a Bray score with 19:11 remaining.

Sheridan and Kathleen Kramer then scored back-to-back goals for the Mules with 17:32 and 8:58 left, respectively, to put the game at 6-3 after one half.

The Continentals scored the first seven goals of the second half though to put the game away. Fowler made nine of her 12 saves in the second to help keep Colby at bay. The Mules scored three goals in the last 2:58 to provide the final margin.

Hamilton leads the all-time series, 3-0. This was the two schools' first meeting since 1993. The Continentals have won 21 in a row at home and 16 straight overall. They play the winner of Gettysburg College and Middlebury College at 1 p.m. on May 11. Gettysburg and Middlebury play at 2:30 p.m. on May 10.
