2007 NESCAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

May 7, 2007
Kim Walker, Middlebury
(Senior, Midfielder - Ridgewood, N.J.)
Walker had an impressive weekend for the Panthers, leading her squad to its seventh consecutive NESCAC Women's Lacrosse Championship on Sunday. After scoring twice in the semifinals against Williams during a 15-5 win on Saturday, Walker tallied six goals, tying a tournament record, and added in an assist during a 10-8 victory over Colby in the championship game on Sunday. Walker also picked up six ground balls and six draw controls over the weekend, while causing five turnovers.

April 30, 2007
Kaylan Tildsley, Williams
(Senior, Midfielder - Andover, Mass.)
Tildsley collected 15 points last week for the Ephs, nine of which came during Williams' come-from-behind victory over Trinity on Sunday in the first round of the 2007 NESCAC Women's Lacrosse Championship. Tildsley scored three goals and three assists in the second half as the Ephs rallied from an 11-5 deficit to win 14-13 in overtime. Two of Tildsley's second half scores came in the final minute of regulation to pull the Ephs even with the Bantams. She leads Williams in scoring this season with 63 points on 27 goals and 36 assists.

Michelle Smith, Trinity
(Junior, Goalkeeper - Wayland, Mass.)
Smith posted a save percentage of .593 over a 3-0 week for the Bantams, making a total of 32 saves. Smith started the week with a 16-save performance in a 10-8 win over NESCAC rival Wesleyan on Thursday, followed by seven saves in a 12-9 victory at Williams. She closed the week with nine saves in a 16-5 win over Wellesley. Smith currently leads the league in save percentage with a .586 mark.

April 16, 2007
Kate Sheridan, Colby
(Sophomore, Midfielder - Hingham, Mass.)
Sheridan had nine goals and five assists during a 2-1 week for the Mules. She also earned 15 draw controls, collected 10 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. Sheridan leads Colby in draw controls this season with 38 and is tied for the team lead in goals 23 and ground balls 29.

Liza Humes, Middlebury
(Senior, Attack - Greenwood Village, Colo.)
Humes scored five goals and assisted on six others for 11 points in a 2-0 week for the Panthers. Humes scored four goals with two assists while picking up a pair of ground balls in a mid-week win over Skidmore. The senior closed the week with a goal and four assists along with a pair of draw controls during Saturday's win over Trinity.

Dana Heritage, Middlebury
(First Year, Midfielder - Cheshire, Conn.)
Heritage helped the Panthers move past a pair of NESCAC foes last week that were previously undefeated in conference play. Heritage began the week with a goal and an assist in a win over Williams on Wednesday, followed by a four-goal, one-assist performance in a victory against Amherst on Saturday. She also gathered six ground balls and two draw controls during Saturday's decision.

April 2, 2007
Amy Craig, Amherst
(Sophomore, Attacker - Denver, Colo.)
Craig provided half of Amherst's offense last week, tallying five goals in consecutive games as the Jeffs picked up wins over Springfield and Connecticut College. On Thursday at Springfield, Craig scored the final three goals of the game over a span of 5:14 to bring her team from behind and take a 7-6 win. Against Connecticut College on Saturday, four of Craig's five goals came in the second half.

Cortney Tetrault, Wesleyan
(Senior, Midfielder - Hatfield, Mass.)
Tetrault helped the Cardinals earn a pair of wins last week as she racked up 13 points on five goals and eight assists. She started the week on Thursday with three goals and four assists in a 16-9 win over Endicott, followed by a two-goal, four-assist performance in a 12-9 win at Tufts on Saturday. Tetrault now leads the team with 18 points on five goals and 13 assists.

March 19, 2007
Lindsey Coit, Connecticut College
(Junior, Midfielder - South Portland, Maine)
Coit tallied six goals along with an assist over two games in Florida last week. The junior tri-captain had three goals in an 14-11 victory against Skidmore on Thursday afternoon. Earlier in the week, Coit contributed three goals and one assist in a tough 13-12 loss to Ohio Wesleyan. Coit leads her team with 11 goals scored so far this season.

Rachel Greenwood, Bates
(Sophomore, Midfielder - Williamstown, Mass.)
Greenwood scored a team-high four goals, including three in the final 10 minutes as the Bobcats came back from an 11-9 deficit to win at Union on Sunday, 15-12.

Michelle Smith, Trinity
(Junior, Goalkeeper - Wayland, Mass.)
Smith was a dominant force for the Bantam defense during its season-opening win at Colby, stopping 20 shots while allowing just seven goals in a 10-7 Trinity win.
