Quizon led Middlebury to its fourth NESCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Championship with an 8-2 victory over Bowdoin in the title game on Sunday. The senior forward put the Panthers into Sunday’s championship with a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over Colby during Saturday’s semifinals. She then notched a natural hat trick with three first period goals in the final. The two-time NESCAC Player of the Year now has 169 points in 110 career games.

Jayme Woogerd, Bowdoin
(Junior, Forward - Seattle, Wash.)
Woogerd collected both Bowdoin goals on Saturday afternoon against Connecticut College, giving the Polar Bears a 2-1 victory and sending them into the semifinals of the 2006 NESCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Championship. Woogerd opened the scoring just 18 seconds into the second period, and broke a 1-1 deadlock at 11:58 of the third with her eighth goal of the season. She is currently tied for fifth in game-winning goals in the NESCAC this season with three.

Genevieve Triganne, Colby
(Sophomore, Goaltender - Pointe Claire, Que.)
Triganne went 2-0-1 last week for the Mules as they cruised into the playoffs with the fourth-seed and home ice in the first round this weekend. Tuesday evening, Triganne made a total of 52 saves against Bowdoin, stopping 42 shots over the final 45 minutes of play to preserve a 2-2 tie. She also had 27 saves in a 4-2 win at Wesleyan on Friday. Triganne ranks fourth in the NESCAC this season in goals against (2.40) and third in save percent-age (.916).

Anna Condino, Williams
(Junior, Forward - Lexington, Mass.)
Condino scored a total of four goals during a 2-0-0 weekend for Williams, tallying twice in each outing. On Friday evening against Amherst, Condino scored the first goal of the game in the first period, along with the game-winning goal on the power-play in the third frame. Saturday afternoon against Connecticut College, Condino’s two markers came during the second period, with one goal coming on the power-play. Condino is currently tied for the Eph lead in goals (13), assists (7) and points (20).

Katie Forney, Bowdoin
(Junior, Forward - Gettysburg, Pa.)
Forney led a lethal Polar Bear attack that exploded for 29 goals through three games last week, contributing almost 40 percent of the Bowdoin offense by herself. Forney lit the lamp a total of six times while chipping in five assists for a total of 11 points. She started the week with two goals against St. Olaf on Tuesday before collecting a hat trick and two assists on Saturday at Trinity. Forney capped the week with a goal and an assist on Sunday at Hamilton, putting her second in the NESCAC in scoring in the process with 14-14-28.

Stacey Johnston, Amherst
(Sophomore, Goaltender - Kingston, Ont.)
Johnston backboned the Jeffs to a 3-0 week on the ice, including a pair of important NESCAC victories. She made 26 saves in an impressive 2-1 win at St. Anselm on Tuesday evening before turning aside 17 Trinity attempts Friday evening for her second shutout of the season, a 5-0 decision. Johnston capped off the week with a 39- save performance in 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Hamilton on Saturday.

Rachel Stemerman, Wesleyan
(Freshman, Goaltender - Williamsville, N.Y.)
The rookie netminder racked up 96 saves and boasted a .960 save percentage in a split weekend with Williams. On Friday, Stemerman made 47 saves in a narrow 3-2 loss to Williams before backboning her squad with a 49-save performance in a 2-1 victory over the Ephs on Saturday. Through 13 games this season, Stemerman holds a .929 save percentage.

Rebecca Julian, Colby
(Freshman, Forward - South Windsor, Conn.)
The first-year forward Julian netted three goals and added an assist to help her squad pick up two victories in NESCAC action over the weekend. Julian opened the weekend Friday against Hamilton with the opening goal in the first period during a 4-1 win. Saturday afternoon against Trinity, Julian tallied two goals and added in an assist as the Mules skated to a 6-2 victory. Julian is one of seven first-year players among Colby’s top eight scorers, currently ranking second on the team in goals (7) and third in points (11).

Lindsey Harrington, Amherst
(Freshman, Forward - Westford, Mass.)
The rookie Harrington had a hand in all five goals during a 1-1 weekend for the Jeffs. On Friday at Hamilton, Harrington picked up three assists, including the first assist on the game-winner in overtime, as Amherst skated to a 3-2 decision. Saturday evening at Trinity, Harrington had both Jeff goals in a tough 3-2 loss to the Bantams. Harrington leads her teammates in points this season (7-6-13), and is second on the team in goals.

December 12, 2005
Jill Mauer, Connecticut College
(Sophomore, Forward - Millbrook, N.Y.)
Mauer keyed a 1-0-1 week for the Camels, tallying two goals and two assists. Tuesday evening against Sacred Heart, Mauer netted the equalizer for her team in the second period after Sacred Heart opened the scoring only 11 seconds prior. The two teams skated to a 1-1 draw. Friday evening against Amherst, Mauer had a hand in all three Connecticut College goals en route to a 3-2 victory. She scored a shorthanded goal during a 5-on-3 situation in the first period along with two assists. Mauer is currently second on the team in points so far this season (3-3-6).

Ashley Wood, Williams
(Junior, Forward - Duxbury, Mass.)
Wood netted four goals and an assist as Williams picked up a pair of NESCAC wins on the road over the weekend. Wood scored twice in a 7-1 victory at Connecticut College on Friday, followed with another two goals and an assist at Amherst on Saturday in a 5-2 win. In her last three outings, Wood has tallied seven goals and one assist, putting her atop the Eph goal-scoring list so far this season and second in the NESCAC. Wood is currently riding a five-game point scoring streak (7-3-10).

Annmarie Cellino, Middlebury
(Freshman, Forward - West Seneca, N.Y.)
Cellino netted four goals and assisted on two others as Middlebury picked up a pair of NESCAC wins over Trinity and Hamilton over the weekend. The rookie assisted on the game-winning goal and added in a shorthanded marker against Trinity on Saturday. Sunday afternoon, Cellino earned a hat trick with an even-strength goal, a power-play goal, and a shorthanded goal, to go along with an assist in a 6-2 decision over Hamilton.

Courtney Bergh, Trinity
(Senior, Goaltender - Pennington, N.J.)
Bergh only allowed two goals in a weekend sweep of NESCAC rival Wesleyan. On Friday, Bergh made 21 saves in a 2-1 victory, followed by 28 stops in a 4-1 triumph on Saturday. She held the Cardinals scoreless for the final 25 minutes in each game as the Bantams earned their first 2-0 start in the eight-year history of the program.
