Rubega, Bowdoin (Junior, Forward - Norwich, Conn.) Rubega was the Polar Bears’ leading scorer as she helped her squad to the 2009 NESCAC Women’s Basketball Championship over the weekend, Bowdoin’s eighth conference title. Rubega averaged 13.5 points and 9.0 rebounds during the two games, pouring in a game-high 18 points and grabbing six rebounds in Saturday’s 74-56 win over Trinity before scoring nine points, corralling 12 rebounds and blocking three shots in Sunday’s 49-46 final victory against Amherst. Bowdoin has now won nine straight games entering this week’s NCAA Tournament action. |

Royals, Trinity (First Year, Guard - Torrington, Conn.) Royals led all scorers during Saturday’s 76-71 victory at Bates in the quarterfinals of the 2009 NESCAC Women’s Basketball Championship. Royals had 23 points on 8-of-15 shooting (.533) along with a 5-for-6 showing from the foul line. She also grabbed five rebounds in the win. Royals is second for the Bantams in scoring this season, averaging 11.7 points per game. |

Daigneault, Amherst (Sophomore, Forward - Guilford, Conn.) Daigneault racked up two more double-doubles last week, pushing her current streak to five games as she averaged 17.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game to help the Jeffs go 2-0 over the weekend. During Friday’s come-from-behind 66-61 win over Williams, Daigneault had a team-high 19 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Saturday afternoon at Middlebury, Daigneault contributed 16 points and a team-best 10 rebounds. For the week, she shot .522 from the floor (12-for-23) and .833 (10-for-12) from the charity stripe. |

Daigneault posted a double-double for the Jeffs last week, averaging 15.5 points and 13.0 rebounds per game over key conference victories against Bates and Tufts. In Friday’s 63-46 win against Bates, Daigneault had a game-high 19 points and 12 rebounds as she hit 9-of-12 shots. Saturday afternoon she posted 12 points and 14 boards during a 54-48 decision over Tufts. For the week, Daigneault shot .632 from the floor (12-for-19) and averaged 3.0 steals per game. |

Leyman, Amherst (Sophomore, Forward - Cincinnati, Ohio) Leyman averaged 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game during a 1-1 week for the Jeffs. After collecting 18 points, five rebounds and three assists in a 63-61 buzzer-beater loss to Bowdoin on Friday, Leyman poured in a career-high 22 points while grabbing a personal-best 11 rebounds in a 65-64 win over Colby. She shot .765 from the floor (13-for-17) and .778 from the foul line (14-for-18) over the weekend. |

Moynihan, Tufts (Senior, Forward - West Hartford, Conn.) Moynihan averaged 20.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists over a 2-0 weekend that vaulted the Jumbos into first place in the NESCAC. Moynihan had a career-high 26 points during Friday’s 75-63 win over Wesleyan, including 16 in the second half as Tufts overcame a nine-point first half deficit. She added 14 points and five rebounds in limited minutes in an 85-67 victory against Connecticut College on Saturday. Moynihan went 14-for-27 from the field (.519), 5-for-9 from three-point range (.556), and 7-for-8 from the foul line (.875) for the week. |

Mack, Colby (First Year, Forward - Augusta, Maine) Mack averaged 14.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, going 13-for-20 from the floor (.650) and 17-for-18 from the foul line (.944) with a pair of double-doubles in a 2-1 week for the Mules. Mack started the week with 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting in a 60-40 win over Wentworth on Monday. Friday evening against Tufts, Mack had 17 points and 11 rebounds, hitting all 11 free throw attempts in a 58-55 victory. She closed the week on Saturday with her second double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing another 11 rebounds while contributing four blocks in a 71-52 setback to Bates. Mack leads the NESCAC in blocked shots, averaging 1.69 per game, and is tied for the Colby lead in scoring with 11.8 points per game. |

Beckwith, Bates (Senior, Forward - Woburn, Mass.) Beckwith led the Bobcats to a 3-0 week and a 2-0 start to the NESCAC slate, averaging 21.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.7 steals per game while shooting .512 from the floor (22-for-43) and .810 from the foul line (17-for-21). On Tuesday against Colby, Beckwith scored the game-winning layup as time expired in the Bobcats 73-71 win, as she finished the contest with 21 points. During Friday’s 80-67 victory over Middlebury, Beckwith had a season-high 26 points along with nine rebounds and seven assists, going 10-for-16 from the field. She closed the week with 16 points, six rebounds and five assists in Saturday’s 90-67 decision over Williams. Beckwith is second in the NESCAC in scoring, averaging 18.3 points per game. |

Yanofsky, Bates (Junior, Forward - Belmont, Mass.) Yanofsky averaged 17.3 points, 8.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.7 steals per game during a 2-1 week for the Bobcats. Yanofsky started the week with 17 points and 10 rebounds in an 83-61 win over the University of New England. She followed with her second double-double of the week, another 17-point, 10-rebound effort in a 64-59 decision over rival Bowdoin on Thursday. Yanofsky closed out the week with her best shooting performance, going 8-for-15 with 18 points, five rebounds and four steals in a 66-55 setback to Tufts. She shot .489 percent on the week (23-for-47). |

Peterman, Williams (Senior, Guard - Los Altos, Calif.) In a 3-1 week for the Ephs, Peterman averaged 18.8 points per game on 27-of-47 shooting (.574). Peterman was named the MVP of the Williams Winter Classic, averaging 21.0 points per game during the two victories as she hit 10-of-14 three-point attempts (.714). She also grabbed eight rebounds and dished out five assists. In Sunday’s 84-63 championship win over Bates, Peterman had 19 points. |

Brossy, Amherst (Senior, Guard - Lukachukai, Ariz.) Brossy scored a game- and career-high 19 points to lead the Jeffs to a 77-55 victory over Clark on Tuesday evening. Brossy went 7-for-9 from the field (.778) and 5-of-6 from three-point range (.833) in the win. She also added four rebounds and one assist, as Amherst increased its winning streak at home to 22 games. |

Fourney led the Cardinals during a 2-1 week, averaging 19.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.3 steals per game while going 24-for-44 (.545) from the floor and 8-for-9 (.889) from the foul line. She also contributed eight assists and five blocks. Fourney collected 26 points in a 61-43 win at Coast Guard on Saturday, one point shy of her career best. |

At UNE on Tuesday evening, Rubega posted 10 points and 10 rebounds in a 75-53 win. She followed on Sunday with a game-high 18 points and a career-best 18 boards in a 56-49 decision over Salve Regina. The 18 rebounds were the eighth-most in program history and the most by a Polar Bear since 1998. |

Beckwith, Bates (Senior, Forward - Woburn, Mass.) Beckwith earned Tournament MVP honors at the Salem St. Tip-Off Classic as she led the Bobcats to a 2-0 weekend. Beckwith averaged 19.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.5 steals during the tournament. She grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds in a 58-39 win over Rhode Island Col. on Friday, then poured in 23 points, including 16 in the second half, in a 65-60 win over Salem St. on Saturday. |

Johnson, Middlebury (Senior, Guard - Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) Johnson averaged 20.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while shooting at a .474 rate from the floor in a 3-0 week for the Panthers. Against Springfield on Sunday in the Williams Tip-Off Classic, Johnson had a game-high 19 points to lead Middlebury to a 61-58 come-from-behind victory. For the week, Johnson converted 19-of-24 free throws and shot 7-for-16 (.438) from behind the arc. |
