LEWISTON, Maine - Bates College will host the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships, for the second time in five years, this May 13 through 18 at the James G. Wallach Tennis Center.

Eight teams from across the country will compete for the team title from May 13 through May 15 at Bates' Wallach Tennis Center. Then the top 32 singles players and the top 16 doubles pairs in Division III will vie for the individual titles from May 16-18.

"Bates College is very pleased and proud to have been asked to once again host the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships," said Director of Athletics Kevin McHugh. "Bates' Wallach Tennis Center proved to be a wonderful venue for the national championship when the Bobcats last hosted in 2004. We hope to provide a similarly electric atmosphere and experience in 2008. We also look forward to again showcasing Bates College and the Lewiston-Auburn area, as well as some of the best tennis and top student-athletes in the country."

Bates has hosted four NCAA Championships in the past, most recently the 2004 NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championship. Bates also served as the host for the NCAA Skiing Championships in 1999 and 1976 and the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Indoor Track Championships in 1985.

As a program, Bates men's tennis is no stranger to the NCAA Championships. Under the guidance of 12th-year head coach Paul Gastonguay, Bates men's tennis team has established itself as one of the best in Division III, winning bids to compete at NCAAs in seven of the past eight years. Former Bobcat Will Boe-Wiegaard claimed the Division III Men's Singles Championship in 2006.
