Colby Taps Thompson as Men's Lacrosse Head Coach
WATERVILLE, Maine Jon Thompson, who played and coached at Brown University, has been named as the new head coach of the Colby College mens lacrosse program. Thompson, a 2003 graduate of Brown, was the first assistant coach for the 2008 Ivy League champion Bears. He grew up in Freeport, Maine, and was a three-sport athlete in lacrosse, soccer, and ice hockey at North Yarmouth Academy. Thompson takes over as Colbys head coach from Rob Quinn, who is the new athletic director at Berwick Academy.

HADLEY, Mass. - Middlebury saw its season come to an end in the quarterfinals of the 2008 NCAA Mens Lacrosse Tournament with an 11-10 overtime setback to Cortland St. on Wednesday afternoon. The Red Dragons led on only two occasions during the game, at 10-9 in the fourth quarter and also the final score.

Cortland St. Upends Middlebury in Overtime in NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament
CORTLAND, N.Y. - Middlebury saw its season come to an end with an 11-10 overtime loss at Cortland in an NCAA quarterfinal match-up. Adam Hyde scored with 39 seconds remaining in overtime to lift the Cortland to the win against Middlebury. The Red Dragons improved to 17-1 with their 13th straight win and advance to the national semifinals where they will host Ithaca. The Panthers end their season with an impressive 13-3 mark.

HADLEY, Mass. - Middlebury advanced into the quarterfinals of the 2008 NCAA Mens Lacrosse Tournament with a 10-7 victory over fellow NESCAC squad Bowdoin on Saturday afternoon. Bowdoin came away with an 11-5 win over Mount Ida in the first round on Wednesday to set up Saturday's meeting. Williams, the 2008 NESCAC Mens Lacrosse Champions, battled Ithaca in the second round on Saturday afternoon, falling 17-10.

Middlebury Picks Up 10-7 Win Over Bowdoin in NCAA Men's Lacrosse Second Round
MIDDLEBURY, Vt. Middlebury went on a 5-0 run midway through the game on its way to a 10-7 win over Bowdoin in an Second Round contest of the 2008 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Tournament. The Panthers advance to the quarterfinal round, where they will travel to Cortland St. for a contest on Wednesday. Bowdoin ends its season with a 12-7 record, including 1-1 in NCAA Tournament play in the schools first appearance.
