March 10, 2008
Josh Rich, Trinity
(Junior, Forward - Palmyra, Pa.)
Rich potted the decisive goal in the 2008 NESCAC Men’s Ice
Hockey Championship on Sunday, scoring 7:07 into the second
overtime against Middlebury to give Trinity a 3-2 victory and its
second NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey title. Rich also tallied in
the first period for the Bantams, as the two goals brought him to
three for the season.

Mike McIntosh, Amherst
(Senior, Defenseman - Soldotna, Alaska)
McIntosh potted the game-winning goal in overtime of
Saturday’s quarterfinal con-test against Connecticut College
in the 2008 NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Champi-onship. It was the
second game-winner of the season for McIntosh, who has four goals
and 12 assists for 16 points through 25 games. The victory put the
Lord Jeffs in the semifinals for the second year in a row.

Cody McKinney, Colby
(Freshman, Goaltender - Weston, Fla.)
McKinney allowed only one goal while also recording his first
collegiate shutout during a pair of wins for Colby over the
weekend. Friday evening, McKinney made 36 saves in a 4-0 win over
nationally-ranked Norwich. He then turned aside 31 shots and only
allowed one goal during Saturday’s 5-1 victory over St.
Michael’s that ended up giving the Mules the top seed in the
2008 NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Championship for the first time
in tournament history. McKinney posted a 13-4-1 conference record
and a .931 save percentage this season.

Chris Rossi, Bowdoin
(Sophomore, Goaltender - Barrington, R.I.)
Rossi allowed just one goal over two wins last weekend for the
Polar Bears. Friday evening, Rossi needed only 23 saves during a
4-0 win at Wesleyan, Bowdoin’s first shutout of the season.
Saturday afternoon against Trinity, Rossi backboned the Polar Bear
defense by turning aside 36 shots in a 7-1 victory. The pair of
victories vaulted Bowdoin into first place in the NESCAC standings
heading into the final weekend of the regular season.

Dallas Bossort, Wesleyan
(Junior, Defender - Bismark, N.D.)
Bossort consistently performed for the Cardinals last week,
tallying a goal and an assist in each of Wesleyan’s three
games for a total of six points. Bossort scored the game-winning
goal in both of the Cardinals two victories, and also scored two of
his three goals while Wesleyan was on the power-play. The three
multi-point performances were Bossort’s first this season, as
he more than doubled his scoring to 5-6-11.
Marc Pulde,
Williams
(Sophomore, Goaltender - Lexington, Mass.)
Pulde extended his streak of solid goaltending for the Ephs over
the weekend, making 81 saves while allowing only three goals for a
.964 save percentage as Williams went 2-0 and gained ground in the
NESCAC standings heading into the final weeks. Against Norwich on
Friday evening, Pulde stopped 41 shots, 37 coming in the final two
periods, in a 5-3 win. Saturday afternoon against St.
Michael’s, Pulde made 40 saves for his first shutout of the
season, a 5-0 Williams win.

Adam Houli, Trinity
(Freshman, Forward - Howell, N.J.)
Houli had the best point production of his rookie year over the
weekend with two goals and two assists, helping the Bantams record
two important NESCAC victories in the process. On Friday evening
against Williams, Houli assisted on both Trinity goals in a 2-1
win. Saturday afternoon, Houli recorded two goals, including what
proved to be the game-winner, as Trinity recovered from an early
1-0 deficit to upend Middlebury 4-1. Houli now has four goals and
three assists for seven points through 15 games.
January 28, 2008
Arthur Fritch, Colby
(Senior, Defenseman - South Boston, Mass.)
Fritch recorded five assists, two coming on the eventual
game-winning goals during a 2-0 weekend for the Mules. Fritch
assisted on the first three Colby goals during a 6-1 win over Tufts
on Friday, then added two more assists during the final seven
minutes of Saturday’s tilt with Connecticut College, as the
Mules broke away from a 1-1 tie for a 3-1 win. Fritch was part of a
defense that allowed only two goals and an average of 27.5 shots
per game. He ranks third among conference defenders in scoring this
season with four goals and 13 assists for 17 points.
January 21, 2008
Mickey Gilchrist, Middlebury
(Senior, Forward - Ottawa, Ontario)
Gilchrist recorded four goals and three assists during a 3-0 week
for the Panthers. Gilchrist potted the game-winner during
Tuesday’s victory at Williams before scoring three goals and
three assists during Middlebury’s wins over Bowdoin and
Colby, including the decisive goal during Friday’s victory
over the Polar Bears. Middlebury has now won its last eight
games.
James Kalec, Tufts
(Senior, Goaltender - East Amherst, N.Y.)
Kalec posted a 1.32 goals against average and an impressive .966
save percentage in a 2-1-0 week for the Jumbos, with the lone loss
coming in overtime on Friday to Skidmore. Kalec started the week
with 37 saves and one goal allowed on Tuesday against Suffolk,
followed by a 38-save performance on Friday against Skidmore. He
closed the week with another 38-save showing while allowing one
goal to support Tufts’ come-from behind victory over
Castleton.

Tom Maldonado, Middlebury
(Senior, Defender - Bronx, N.Y.)
Maldonado had a goal and four assists for five points during a
pair of wins for the Panthers. In addition to recording an assist,
Maldonado tallied the game-winning goal with 40 seconds remaining
during Friday’s 4-3 win over Castleton. Saturday afternoon,
Maldonado had three assists in a 5-1 victory over Skidmore.
Maldonado is tied for third among conference defensemen with two
goals and 10 assists for 12 points.

Ryan Leary, Bowdoin
(Freshman, Forward - Marblehead, Mass.)
Leary earned MVP honors at the Salem St. Holiday Classic on Dec.
27-28 as he scored three goals in two games, including two in
Friday’s championship win over the host Vikings. The three
goals extended Leary’s scoring streak to five games, and he
leads all of Division III in goals per game at 1.57. Leary has 12
points through seven appearances for the Polar Bears this season
(11-1-12).

T.J. Kelley, Colby
(Senior, Forward - Ridgefield, Conn.)
Kelley tallied three goals and an assist as the Mules split a
home-and-home series with NESCAC rival Bowdoin, winning the
conference contest 3-1 on Friday to claim first place in the
standings. Kelley assisted on the eventual game-winning goal and
added an insurance marker on Friday before scoring two more goal on
Saturday in a 5-3 setback to the Polar Bears. Kelley is two points
shy of 100 career points (45-53-98).
December 3, 2007
Ryan Leary, Bowdoin
(Freshman, Forward - Marblehead, Mass.)
Leary netted his first six collegiate goals at Bowdoin on Saturday
- scoring a natural hat trick in a span of 3:28 in the first period
- as the Polar Bears went on to a 10-5 victory over Skidmore. The
six tallies for Leary broke the previous mark of five in a game at
Bowdoin. He finished the weekend with seven points after earning an
assist on Friday in a victory over Castleton.

Matt Crum, Trinity
(Senior, Forward - Odessa, Fla.)
Crum scored three goals as he helped the Bantams earn the title in
the John Dunham Invitational Tournament over the weekend. Crum had
two goals during Saturday's 4-1 victory over Wesleyan before
scoring the game-winning goal in overtime on Sunday in a 5-4
decision over Amherst.

Greg Parker, Connecticut
College
(Sophomore, Goaltender - Trenton, Ontario)
Parker, the NESCAC Rookie of the Year last winter, helped the
Camels post a 1-0-1 record to start the 2007-08 campaign by
stopping 75 out of 79 shots faced this past weekend for a .949 save
percentage and a 1.92 goals against average. On Friday against
Middlebury, Parker made 35 saves in a 2-2 tie with the Panthers. He
closed the weekend by making 40 saves in a 5-2 win over Williams.
