HADLEY, Mass. Tufts University is headed to the semifinals of the NCAA Field Hockey Tournament for the second year in a row. The Jumbos put together a dominant performance over the weekend, out-scoring opponents by a 9-2 margin en route to two victories. Of the four conference teams that earned a spot in this years tournament field, the 2009 NESCAC Field Hockey Champions were the only ones to reach the national semifinals.

Trinity Falls To Ursinus 5-1 In NCAA Field Hockey Quarterfinals
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The No. 3 Ursinus College Bears topped the Trinity College Bantams 5-1 in the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championship this afternoon, hosted by Ursinus College at Eleanor Frost Shell Alumnae Field. Ursinus improves to 19-2 on the season and returns to the semifinal game for the third time in four years, having won the National Championship in 2006. The Bantams end their season at 16-3.

Tufts Advances To NCAA Field Hockey Semifinals With 4-1 Win
MEDFORD, Mass. - The Tufts University field hockey team advanced to the NCAA Championship semifinals for the second consecutive season with a 4-1 victory over Skidmore in a quarterfinal game on Sunday afternoon at Bello Field. Tufts, which improved to 18-1 on the season, will play Salisbury University in the semifinals at Mount Holyoke College next Saturday. Skidmore, which was making its fifth appearance in the NCAA quarterfinals, finished the year with a 17-4 record.

Amherst Falls to Skidmore 4-3 in NCAA Field Hockey Second Round
MEDFORD, Mass. - In an exciting, back-and-forth NCAA Field Hockey Championship second-round game, Skidmore College's Brittany O'Brien (Ridgefield, Conn.) scored with 3:18 remaining in the second half to lift the Thoroughbreds to a 4-3 victory against Amherst College in the rain at Tufts University's Bello Field on Saturday afternoon.

Trinity Edges Middlebury 2-1 in NCAA Field Hockey Second Round
COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Trinity College Bantams hung on to beat the Middlebury College Panthers 2-1in the second round of the NCAA Div. III Championship Tournament this afternoon, hosted by Ursinus College at Eleanor Frost Shell Alumnae Field. The Bantams advance to the NCAA Quarterfinal game, which will be played tomorrow, Sunday, Nov. 14, against Ursinus College (18-2), on their home turf. The Bantams improve to 16-2 with the win, while the Panthers end their season at 12-5.
