Vandersea Steps Down as Bates Baseball Coach
LEWISTON, Maine — Craig Vandersea has resigned as head baseball coach and assistant football coach at Bates College, effective August 31, the college announced Thursday. Vandersea will become assistant athletic director, head football coach and assistant baseball coach at St. Paul's School in Concord, N.H.

HADLEY, Mass. - Trinity College won the 2008 NCAA Baseball Championship on Tuesday afternoon in thrilling fashion. Down 4-3 in the bottom of the ninth of the championship game, the Bantams, the 2008 NESCAC Baseball Champions, plated two runs on back-to-back full count walks with the bases loaded to win the game 5-4 and earn their first NCAA title in the process. Trinity finished the 2008 season with a remarkable 45-1 record.

Trinity Outlasts Johns Hopkins for 2008 NCAA Baseball Championship
APLLETON, Wis. – Sophomore Matt Sullivan (North Reading, Mass.) and senior tri-captain Guy Gogliettino, Jr. (Wallingford, Conn.) drew back-to-back bases loaded full count walks with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Trinity a 5-4 victory over Johns Hopkins in the final game of the 2008 NCAA Baseball Championship on Tuesday. It is the first NCAA title for Trinity.

Trinity to Play for 2008 NCAA Baseball Title on Tuesday
APPLETON, Wis. – Senior Chandler Barnard (Lubbock, Texas) threw eight strong innings and sophomore James Wood (Windham, N.H.) came up with a huge game from the plate to lead Trinity to a 8-5 win over Johns Hopkins, earning the Bantams a ticket to their first-ever NCAA Division III National Title game on Tuesday. With the victory, Trinity improves to 44-0, the nation’s longest winning streak.

Trinity Survives Late Linfield Rally in NCAA Baseball Championship
APPLETON, Wis. - Sophomore Kent Graham (Longmeadow, Mass.) powered the offense and senior co-captain Michael Regan (West Roxbury, Mass.) notched a pressure-filled save to lead Trinity to a 6-5 win over the Linfield in Game 2 of the 2008 NCAA Baseball Championship Saturday evening. With the win, the Bantams improve to 43-0, keeping the nation’s longest win-streak intact.
