      <title>Tufts Wins First NESCAC Field Hockey Title Over Trinity, 3-2</title>

      <description>HARTFORD, Conn. - Junior midfielder Jess Perkins (Barrington, R.I.) scored a pair of goals in the first half that helped her team a 3-0 lead at the break, and the second-seeded Tufts Jumbos held on for a 3-2 victory over top-seeded Trinity in the finals of the 2009 NESCAC Field Hockey Championship Sunday afternoon on Sheppard Field.  Tufts wins the NESCAC crown for the first time, after falling in the league finals at home last fall, 1-0, against Bowdoin.</description>

      <title>Williams Earns Men's Soccer Title in Overtime, 2-1</title>

      <description>MIDDLETOWN, Conn. - A strong offensive thrust by Williams forwards junior Gaston Kelly and senior Pierre Meloty-Kapella resulted in an own-goal by Middlebury College 6:25 into overtime, giving second-seeded Williams its sixth NESCAC Men's Soccer title in the 10-year history of the championship with a 2-1 victory over sixth-seeded Middlebury.  It also locked up a 15th appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the Ephs as they secured the NESCAC's automatic qualifier for the NCAAs which begin Nov. 12.</description>

The Ephs receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament with this afternoon's victory.</description>

Hamilton College's Peter Kosgei (Kapsabet, Kenya) won his third consecutive individual title, running the 8-kilometer course in 25:40, while Sophia Galleher (Denver, Colo.) of Amherst took the individual title, covering the women's 6-kilometer course in 21:39 as she won the crown by just one second over runner-up Ravenna Neville (Westfield, N.J.) of Wesleyan.</description>
